PS3 PS3 Slim Syscon is Shorted

Hi guys. I need help with this ps3 slim. It's 2000 DYN board. It had errors with 12V (light was dim) and upon inspection with thermal camera i saw syscon getting warm. Afrer removing syscon the light was bright and i was able to get those 12V, so syscon was causing short. I have syscon on same donor board, so my question is: is it possible to swap syscon and do i need to make dump from shorted one and transfer it to donor? What are my options? Thank you in advance.

As far as I know, SYSCON is binded to CELL and flash memory.

So, if you are going to swap components, you must swap all 3 of them.

Thank you for reply. But is it possible to take shorted syscon, extract data and flash it on working one?

I don't think so. The keys inside each component are written during the manufacturing process.

Besides, if a SYSCON chip is shortned, you won't be able to connect it in order to extract its data... if that's even possible.

I understand, but why did i get those 12V when i removed the syscon chip from the board? When i soldered it again i lost 12V. Confusing

Because the SYSCON is damaged internally. You've said it on your first post:

Getting the 12V line is not enough, all the components must work correctly and delivering the correct amount of current, at the right voltages, to the right places.

So there

So there is no solution for this? Syscon is damaged and can't be copied over to donor chip. The only way would be swapping cell, syscon and nand.

I'm afraid the only solution is to swap all 3 components. Fixing the SYSCON chip is not worth it and pretty impossible for the Average Joe.

You can thank Sony's engineers for that.

Hahaha, well i'm certainly going to thank you for your help. As for ps3, RSX is good and some other components, i will use them as donor parts. I also have phat with dead rsx, so i want to try fankenstein mod for the first time.

@GuilloteTesla Just one more question. I have superslim laying around with cell intact, rsx is missing. Can i swap cell and other components into slim model?

Sorry, it was dumb question. Syscon models are difrerent. Ignore this.
