PS3 PS3 Strange Issue - Red Light Then Nothing

I have a very strange issue with my PS3: it's on standby mode with a red light. When I try to switch it on, it beeps just once, and then the red light disappears. There's no video output, and I get no response from the console. I can barely hear a very faint vibration, so I have to put my ear right next to the vent to hear it. It's hard to tell if it's the fan making the noise. I'm lost as to what's causing this and could really use some help. If I can't figure it out, I'm thinking about checking the syscon error log, but I'll need to buy all the necessary stuff. Also, this PS3 was bought jailbroken, and I haven't changed the thermal paste or modified fan settings before it broke. So, I don't know if it's the fan making that noise.
