PS3 Tools Collection by aldostools

PS3 PS3 Tools Collection - by Aldostools (Includes Over 50+ Tools/Utility for your CFW Enabled PS3) v4.8.1

ok ive tried decrypting this "package.edat" file in this DLC ive downloaded using aldostools, but it says that i need to get a dklic license, but i try to open up Bruteforce.EDAT that came with the tools to get it & i cant i get a "Missing .edat file" error, so i downloaded TrueAncestor .EDAT rebuilder, but i have no idea how to use it. Are there any ideas how to decrypt this file?

Can someone please tell me why Bruteforce .Edat tool isnt working? i need it to get a dklic license to decrypt my .EDAT file but i have no way of getting it

Have you read the documentation for those tools? Have you researched all the threads about them?
Blindly trying to edit files without knowing why you are doing it won't lead anywhere.. Neither will using those tools without knowing how they work...

The dev klic might already be in the dev_klics.txt database from aldostools. If not it needs bruteforced.

Look at zecoxao's explanations here
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=61533
Look at step 3. Not a step by step exactly but the goal is clear. Use the dlc rap file to decrypt the edat then reencrypt it with free dev klic.
Also please read the posts following the OP, many questions are answered there.

Check the psx-place threads about aldostools & jikkyu's tools, most questions have already been answered.

Note that if the DLC was not obtained legally & you are missing a file or something has been patched already, I cannot help you any further though...

Do you have a link to a thread about jikkyu's tools? cause thats where im having some trouble as well. Im able to use TrueAncestor EDAT rebuilder & it says everything is successfully decrypted once i go through process but i never see a .dat file anywhere & i dont know whats going on. A thread to this issue would be very useful

please help me i wnat to buy playstation lowest price
Wrong thread. Wrong forum.
In the US or EU, a slim ps3 on CFW usually costs about $140 to $170 while a slim ps3 to jailbreak is generally found between $100 & $140.
Those figures are average, just to give you an idea.

Hi, i'm here again with a question, i installed this tools in my PC, creating exceptions in my antivirus as you can see:

But i don't know why the exceptions aren't working, and the antivirus is blocking PKG_ContentID.exe and i can't use it:

Anyone has experienced this?

@STLcardsWS
@kozarovv
@bguerville
@aldostools

Thanks in advance.

looks like ur using avira. u need to restore the object from the quarantine list which should then ask if u want to add it to the ignore list. this seems to be a bug with real time protection, so that's the only way it doesn't get quarantined I believe.

Try exclude file, not folder. Looks like Avira have 2 places where exception need to be added, or post is outdated.

via https://answers.avira.com/en/question/how-do-i-exclude-files-or-processes-from-scanning-9188
Exclude files or processes
  1. Click the Avira icon in the taskbar to open Avira Connect.
  2. Search for Antivirus and click Open.
  3. Click Extras → Configuration.
  4. Since the exceptions for the "System Scanner" and "Real-Time Protection" must be configured separately, please select the corresponding module in the left panel.
    • System Scanner
      PC Protection → System Scanner → Scan → Exception
    • Real-Time Protection
      PC Protection → Real-Time Protection → Scan → Exception

    Search and add files or processes you want to be skipped by the System Scanner or Real-Time Protection.
  5. Click OK.

The issue comes from your AV configuration & not from the tools.
You should refer to your AV software documentation if you don't know how to make exceptions work properly.

Thanks for answering. You're probably right. I think the .exe it is not in quarantine, i think avira is deleting it from the start:

Thanks for answering, i think i did this, i disabled avira, installed ps3 tools and added PKG_ContentID.exe process to the exceptions, but when i enabled avira again, the .exe is deleted again.

Thanks for answering, you're right, i know the tools aren't the problem. I think this belongs to AV labs, but i was hoping someone might have experienced this before.

Most of us have had experience with our AV deleting files including ps3tools files. It is very common.
We all needed at some point to restore a file from quarantine & configure our respective AV software so it would not delete the file again...

However if your AV keeps deleting the file despite the exception you setup, it means the exception is either badly setup or incomplete.
Usually when you have false positive like this with a file, you must setup 2 different exceptions in your AV configuration, one for scanning operations & one for real time protection....

Like I said you must review your settings & refer to documentation to find out what you did wrong or did not do.

it's normal for the file to be quarantined, but it's not normal for it to be deleted. afaik, avira won't delete files unless u manually instruct it to do so.

For some reason i don't know why file it is not in quarantine. I'm gonna try another version of this tools to see if pkg_contentid is blocked.

could be the version of avira. newer versions have the added feature to ignore a quarantined object once it's been restored. I think the ignore processes/files/folders thing is semi-broken. certain objects still manage to be quarantined by it no matter what u do.

In theory, there is 99% chance that this type of issue is due to user error.

An AV would never delete the file unless explicitly confirmed..
And PKG_ContentID.exe would only get blocked if at least one of the 2 required exceptions (scanner & RT protection) wasn't setup properly.

The procedure to add exceptions is described here:
https://www.avira.com/en/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail/kbid/1091

However, in practice there seems to be an issue with Avira's Exception list management. Apparently, the issue has been plaguing the Avira AV software for the past 18 months & Avira's regular updates seem to have offered no fix so far!

If this is the case here, you might want to consider changing AV software because the exception list is a major feature of any AV suite. Exceptions are quite common & if they do not work properly, ps3tools is not the only application you will never be able to run.
I hope you have not already bought years of Avira licensing...

Thanks for your answers, i managed with this solution for now, i installed ps3tools_2.7.38, then i installed 4.8.1, replacing everything except pkg_contentid, in this occasion av didn't block the file of the 2.7.38 version.
