PS3 PS3 Toolset v1.1 Update

Hey I'm on toolset site my ps beeps and then nothing. I look in the logs and get a error that read failure to allocate buffet from browser container I'm not sure what's wrong

Please don't multi-post, if possible. If an available mod could merge these into one post (and possibly move if appropriate) that would be awesome. ;)

I searched around and haven't found anything for this error, but I'll keep looking. I'm betting @pinky @bguerville or @aldostools will probably have more insight than me...

Hang out a bit and wait, someone will know what to do next...

sounds good will keep that noted for the future. sorry about that. still learning what can and cant be done on here.

the only step tht failed was the loading of patches via HTTPS and ppl are saying i should install hfw and then do the jailbreak which idk if i must

You can always try the other method, downloading the patch and loading it from USB or something. See MrMario's youtube video on how to jailbreak your ps3 on firmware 4.86 or lower (it works on 4.87, tested by me today!).

I do not know who told you you have to install HFW, but even though I'm a noob, I can pretty much tell you that's not true. The tools should be able to update from OFW 4.8x (provided that's what you have) and I confirm they worked for me (OFW 4.87).

By the way, @Cross, the website is up now.

Yay, more waiting! The website was short lived, it is currently displaying "Resource limit is reached." I got as far as downloading the nofsm_patch_487.bin :hopelessness:
There is not enough traffic on ** ** www.ps3xploit.net > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com) > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com to warrant a resources error like this one, even on release days. The server can handle the number of genuine requests many times over.
A DDOS bot attack has begun with the PS3 Toolset as its target just a few hours after I created this thread.
You can blame the attackers for your extra waiting & possibly for some future issues as I have to assume it won't simply end here.
The attack has been mitigated temporarily & the site is now accessible again without issues but at this rate who knows for how long...
More investment needs made in server security & configuration, it means time & depending on choices possibly cash as well....
An extra headache as a reward for sharing...

No & no plans to make one for the time being.

just wondering, could mirrors be made, even if no sources were released? I don't know the details of the Toolset implementation, so maybe I'm just asking nonsense
(of course, you would be selecting your own trusted mirrors)

To make alternative mirrors is complicated imho.
A mirror would need to have free ssl with certificates supported by the PS3 browser as well as php & a few server features the Toolset requires.
Getting these features for free is not exactly easy & we cannot afford to spend money on anything other than domain & hosting renewal.
Having mirrors does not protect from ddos attacks either, if you can attack one domain, you may as well attack more.
And above all, it would be more work for me.

No good deed goes unpunished...

I know there are ways to donate to the the main site here. Do you have any donation links set up for anyone who'd like to contribute to directly to PS3Toolset to offset hosting & security expenses? I'm betting at least a few of us would kick in a few pieces of silver...

But @esc0rtd3w can update PS3 NOR Flasher for those who want use offline version and idps_psid_minver_dumper too
He could but he won't.
He himself took the decision to retire the old Flash Writer, a decision I fully supported.

My advice to you all is to move on, just like we did.
Neither of us will update the old Flash Writer, for us this is the past now, it is done with & we moved on to other pastures.

And the toolset is a lot more safe than the old flasher. (no more brick on metldr.2 consoles...)

That said @bguerville, I don't know if it's possible to obfuscate your code, but if it is, I agree it would be nice to have an offline solution just in case.
