XMB Package Downloader (XMBPD)

PS3 XMB Package Downloader - An XMB MOD that intergrates a Homebrew Store on the XMB v0.70

So if I install CFW again will the Mods disappear? But I believe the folders will still be inside the game folder in dev_hdd0? Or am I mistaken?

It seems to be complicated its way, I think it is more suitable for more advanced users.
I still do not have enough knowledge to do this step, but thanks for the tip my friend :encouragement:

For webMAN Launchpad you can use the installer to revert to standard XMB. For XMBPD the best way to remove it is to delete or rename the XMBPD.xml, remember it is easy to add the HDD files again if you want it back again. It is better/safer to do it this way than modifying your flash every time you want to enable/disable the mod.

The only files on flash modified by the XMBPD installer are the category network xmls, so if you want to revert to completely clean XMB you could use the originals from whatever FW you are on. I could have included all the standard xmls for each CFW in the installer for reverting, but I did not see any point as it is better to edit/remove/add the HDD files in that situation.

EDIT: and yes, if you reinstall CFW then the mods will be gone, you will still have the HDD files, but you will need to reinstall the flash files.

Thanks a lot for this help one more time :friendly wink:
I did now to test and it worked fine :chuncky:
I did not even have to modify the XMBPD XML or delete, because when I deleted the XMBM + the XMBPD disappeared from the networks tab.
I used the pkg of the Launchpad to change the Situation.
I was wondering if you also did one backup files of CFW for security at pkg? :confused3:
Because inside the installer it did not show that there was backup to be restored :cower:

Yes that is normal, The XMBPD files are contained within the XMBM+ folder so when you deleted XMBM+ you also deleted XMBPD. I am not sure if I should continue like this with them using the same folder, as it is confusing people having these mods tied together. I think future versions will have their own folder and also I will put in revert to standard XMB option.

Every time you use the Team XMBM+ installer it should make a backup of any files it modifies, you can find these backups on the installer menu near the bottom under the title "backups"

I as a user, I prefer the independent folders, because if the person, for example, uninstalling the XMBM + She will lose the XMBPD.
An option in the XMBPD installer to revert everything would be great.
I liked the Launchpad installer.I found it simpler
I even realized that there was the backup option, but I could not press,Because the option was off,so I chose to revert

Hello.
Sorry for my English.
I am newbie in PS3 and could someone help me to install XMBPD to my PS3?
I installed ermak86 CFW 4.81, WebMAN 1.45.02 (but I don't know how to check if it is installed as full mode) and prepNTFS 1.16. But when I install XMBPD 0.63 its menu does not appear.
1. How can I found a cause this fail?
2. Should I change ermak86 CFW to another?
3. As I understand the following sequencing should be:
install CFW 4.81
install Webman 1.45.02 Full mode
install XMBDB 0.63
That's right?

Thanks a lot.

When installing XMBPD, there are 2 steps, first you must install the HDD files, then you must install the correct flash files for your system. I havnt tried that firmware so don't know much about it. There is no option in the installer for ermak86 CFW so I assume you have not installed any flash files? You can try install the flash files for ferrox, it should work ok as long as ermak86 doesn't have a modded network category, if it does then you would lose those mods.

Thanks a lot!!! It works ))))

Open your browser & use this url:
http://localhost/cpursx.ps3
The edition is given at the bottom of the page.

As an alternative you can check the size of /dev_hdd0/webftp_server.sprx. If it's the full edition it should be bigger than 160kb.
Thanks! I'v connected via browser and seen 'webMAN - Simple Web Server [Full]'. But there is no webftp_server.sprx file on /dev_hdd0. Is it OK?

The location of the sprx file may vary..
It is usually /dev_hdd0 or /dev_hdd0/plugins.
Or even /dev_flash/vsh/module/ in Rebug CFW.
It all depends how webMAN-MOD was installed.
On a standard Cobra CFW you can find the path of your webftp_server.sprx file by opening /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt.

I have no idea what could cause that. I tested it on a fresh install of 4.81.2.

After you install the pkg, run it, select install XMBPD, then when it asks if you want to reboot say yes. That should be all there is to it. It will seem like its frozen for a little while when its installing, around 17%, don't worry, its fine, its just installing lots of small files.

So XMBPD does not integrate into xmbm+ anymore?
It becomes independent in the Network Column?
yep, XMBM+ can link to it as well, but it is now contained in a different folder and is independent. Reason for this is if people want to remove one or the other its was confusing and required manual file manipulation.
