I'm still on Rebug 4.81.1 and it's working fine, but I plan upgrading my system to 4.81.2, I wonder if it's compatible with the latest Rebug?

Of course it is. All cfw related files necessary for XMBPD are identical, updating to 4.81.2 will not make a difference.

That is the Launchpad installer you are thinking of, they have different files due to the new Cobra features. For XMBPD its the same for both. Even though I have only tested XMBPD on Rebug 4.81 it should also be fine on all other 4.81 CFW.

Hey, downloaded and installed XMBPD v0.65 on REBUG 4.81.2. My question is how do I install said packages? For example downloaded Spotify, where does it go? I can't seem to find it in any of the XMB menus. Moreover is there a way to convert those apps to non psn? Or will I need to log into the PSN to use them?

The pkg goes in the /dev_hdd0/packages folder & it should have got installed also, not just downloaded....
You should have seen the download screen first & then the installation screen!

Spotify gets installed under the Music menu.
If you look at XMBPD you will see that there is a nopsn apps category. Those files are patched to be used without PSN. If you installed a pkg from another category, it's not patched for nopsn & it may require PSN or not depending on the app.
Spotify requires PSN access & currently there is no working patch afaik. You will need to use psnpatch to disable the cfw before you use Spotify....

Nopsn patches do not exist for every app requiring PSN. It is on a case by case basis. There are patches for some apps & not for others. I suggest you take a look at our nopsn app thread to find out which...

Spotify will only show up if you have a PSN account on your PS3 afaik (Some regions could be excluded). No-PSN not available for Spotify sorry.

I can probably delete that now, At first there were loads of No-PSN packages in the older version of XMBPD which I took from the No-PSN thread on here, but then I realised that lots of them no longer worked, So I switched to only including packages that were confirmed working by someone on here. I must have left that pkg on the server so that there wasn't a broken link in older versions of XMBPD.

At the moment XMBPD links to the official Spotify pkg on ares servers.

Thanks mate, very helpful indeed cleared everything up. Iv managed to get my hands on a No-PSN Netflix from reddit. Can anyone confirm it it works for them?

Reddit? Hmmm...
There is only one NoPSN Netflix that can be run, it is EU version 1.04. I should know because I am the one who patched it & released it!

All US versions will fail & even EU 1.04 isn't perfect either, it usually freezes during streaming...

As You know, in first WIP of XMBM+ I have implemented full XMBPD, with Your filename nomenclature. I give up with this but still I have style files. If You want, take it as another style option. However, only with one type (unbubbled) because "rebugified" bubbles looks horrible after scale up/down by the console. Of course it's nothing obligate, if You find it could be useful take it, if not, nothing happened.

NICE! I was going to ask you about these, I will definitely include them in the style switcher in the next version. If anyone wants to Rebugify XMBPD v0.65 now they can just copy those into the dev_hdd0/game/XMBPKGDLR/USRDIR/IMAGES/ folder, that should get most of them.

  • Added over 60 No-PSN pkgs (Thanks to @esc0rtd3w - Source1 Source2)
  • Updated the webMAN Mod, PSN Patch, PrepNTFS and ManaGunZ packages, added Gamepad Test v1.0.
  • Added 10 "PSN not required" apps to the PSN category.
  • Added an XMBPD Rebugification skin to the style switcher (Thanks to @Berion)

* As usual this update is also available from the XMB if you already have XMBPD installed.
** webMAN MOD FULL 1.45.00 or newer required. (Thanks @aldostools/@bguerville)
*** I only test my mods on the latest Rebug, but this should work fine on most CFW.
