PS2 Classics GUI Transparency issue

I have followed multiple threads about this, i updated PS2 classics GUI from 2.1 to the newest 2.2.3. I made sure that i got the plugin on photoshop and that the image had clear transparency and no interlacing, and it still shows as a black spot.

Just so you know, i got an icon0.png from another ps2 classic to use as a template, and it did work to keep it's transparency when i was placing all of the images from that normal copy of Persona 3 FES to a packed edited version of the game with a cheat enabled, and it showed as normal in the XMB. But now when i try to do this again by editing the icon0 from that game, it just doesn't work. I have no idea what to do, why won't it just become transparent, why won't the program take into account PNGs properly and convert the image so that it stays transparent in the XMB, doesn't the PS1 packer do that?

I'm very exhausted about this, and i never found a clear answer to this, i just really want my PS2 games to look consistent in the XMB along side the PSN releases of PS2 games i own.

I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION, HOLY HELL THIS WORKS.

basically, not sure if you need to do all the procedures the same way or not, but i managed to get the transparency to work, by simply naming the image ICON0 like the original. which made it show up in the top right corner of the program, and made the image work!

EDIT: yes, image editing won't be needed, the image MUST BE CALLED ICON0.PNG for it to work, that is it. i just tested it out on a normal PNG, worked perfectly. Maybe next time one of the higher ups here tries to help people with this issue, tell them about this.

what exactly is shown in top right corner? All i see is blue square...

Also, it image in preview window with black background or is it transparent, even though its transparent in XMB as you said?

I just tested it as I was also needing to get a transparent icon. Can confirm that on the PS2 classics app that it will still show a black box behind the image after re-naming the file, but after importing back on your PS3 it will be a transparent icon, so this method works
