PS3 PS3 Toolset v1.1 Update

  • The PS3 Toolset v1.1 is finally released.
It can be accessed at the usual url: ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset

This new update brings OFW/HFW/CFW 4.80 cex/dex, 4.81 cex/dex & 4.87 cex support to the list of already supported firmwares.

The biggest & most impacting change of this update is the introduction of a new "worker thread" system to get better performance & flexibility with multithreaded ROP operations. The idea was to introduce a multithreaded ROP system that could cope with the demands of the coming file manager.
FMM is now benefiting from the new system, all IO operations use the new worker threads, to good effect according to my benchmarks.
The log tool was updated with a paging system to avoid performance issues that may be caused by tons of log entries flooding the DOM. UDP log broadcasting has been extended & now runs on a worker thread too, the feature is for devs only, regular users should not have any need for it & should keep UDP turned off.

I will not be around very much in the next few days however don't hesitate to report possible bugs or crashes, that we did not manage to detect during testing.
Use the dedicated [BG Toolset] User Issues and Dump Submissions thread.
I will check it when I can.

@esc0rtd3w joins me to wish you all a good new year.
    BG

Sorry about the screenshot quality, bloody Tapatalk attachment limitations.. ;-)

Maybe I do not understand something or it is a simple typo,
but I have a problem with this sentence:
...OFW/HFW/CFW 4.80 cex/dex, 4.81 cex/dex...support...

Does the new Toolset support OFW/HFW/CFW from 4.80 or from 4.81?
Maybe there is a difference between CEX and DEX?

It supports all cex firmwares from 4.80 to 4.87 whether it is cfw, ofw or hfw.
And it supports the dex firmware versions that were made public whether Rebug DEX or OFW DEX.
It also supports mixed system like Rebug where in CEX mode you can get either a cex vsh or a dex vsh..

On 4.80 & 4.81 specifically, there is a browser ssl compatibility warning, one must accept it to proceed to loading the Toolset.

Thank you so much!!

It's not gonna be in gold bricks or nothing but I promised myself I was gonna double my donation if this dropped when it did.. gj,

thanks for stopping my most recent attempt to build my own cfw, it was getting scary with no safety net

Tools work perfectly btw

Yay, more waiting! The website was short lived, it is currently displaying "Resource limit is reached." I got as far as downloading the nofsm_patch_487.bin :hopelessness:

sorry to bother but the BG toolset is not working:nevreness:

Please be more specific :). What's your PS3 model, what firmware do you have (OFW,CFW,HFW and what version?), what errors are you getting? They worked perfectly for me when on OFW 4.87.

If you're on OFW 4.8x, try following MrMario's tutorial (don't skip anything, please):
.

If you're on CFW/HFW, what worked for me (and it's probably safest bet) is to uninstall them and revert to OFW and he has a tutorial on that as well. I used both (second, then first) since I was on HFW+HEN originally.

Too many people accessed the site o_O

Ops, i just deleted a post in the other thread about issues just because i was reading the same repeated in other forum threads, also because is not a bug
I guess there is lot of people trying to use it right now, not much to say, wait a bit

Btw, you dont really need to download the patch to a storage device, there is an option that allows to download directly to the PS3 ram, this prevents all kind of posible file corruptions, device storage problems, or user mistakes
It took me some time to understand what it was doing, but after learning about it probably is one of my favourite features of the BGtoolset

Btw, nice work @bguerville this seems to be another fine recipe cooked at the correct timings :encouragement:

wht do u mean by downloading it to the ps3 ram and also i have been waiting now for a long time for the site 3hrs to be except:concern: im sorry again

Ohhhh... no worries, sorry that's happening.. I didn't know because I managed to get it going before the resource limit thingy happened and thought some step just failed for you. Hope it comes back online soon.
the only step tht failed was the loading of patches via HTTPS and ppl are saying i should install hfw and then do the jailbreak which idk if i must

He's referring to the file I mentioned which is part of the exploit. I downloaded it without knowing there was a safer, more convenient step instead.

wht was the safer option? nvm, but also i need that file to cause its the patch i need to install

You may have noticed that others in the posts above yours have had the same issue of "Resource Limit Is Reached" when trying to use the Toolset. It appears to be caused by a large amount of people trying to access the site at once, which has resulted in it being overwhelmed. The only thing to do is wait for the usage to calm down a bit and try again later.

Read the info from the previous release here, is very technical, but is also like a tutorial, also i recommend to read the wole thread because there is a lot of info that can be harvested from the reports and the discussions and talk of other users
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/u...ion-of-tools-fueled-by-new-ps3-exploit.28658/

The option im talking about is the one that appears in this dialog where there are 3 options
With the option "Load patch via HTTPS" you are downloading the patch file (from internet) and loading it (in the PS3 RAM), then the patch hash is checked, all this automatically with a single action
This way is imposible any corruption because the patch file is not stored in any of your HDD or USB devices... it goes directly from internet to your PS3 RAM
