The official ScummVM Team has progressed the project to version 1.8.1, the emulator has been updated on various platforms including the PS3 Port. In this update there has been some game engines updates for various games across all updated platforms. Outside the PS3 version there was a NEW Nintendo 3DS and Android port,. the dev team hopes to have ScummVM on Google Play Sooner then later.

Developer DeViL303 is back with an update to XMBPD, the homebrew store that is integrated directly into the XMB (not to be confused with a web shortcut (homebrew store) like what is found in the latest FERROX 4.80 CFW). In version 0.31 there was some minor changes to XMB Package Downloader itself, but the installer seen a big change as it now includes the ability to install another project by DeViL303; webMAN Launchpad that was released several months ago by the developer who has brought us many great XMB modifications over the years..

You remember developer @ OsirisX from his recent works such as the popular PlayStation 3 Plugin for CFW users (PS3XPAD). The developer now has created a video recently showing how he is Running Steam on his 1.76 firmware based PS4 Console with Arch Linux and Team Fail0verflow PS4 Radeon Patches . Most games are reported to be working, with mid to low on the settings on the Steam App through Arch Linux on the PS4

PS3 Developer DeViL303 is back with a new update to XMBPD, the Homebrew Store that is integrated right into the XMB for 4.80 REBUG REX user's. This release is only for REBUG REX 4.80 CFW and also contains some other changes in the latest release of version 0.30 that DeViL303 has dropped in the forums earlier today's. Over 900 Themes or available plus some other changes, one things was pulled from the release and that being the CFW Applications addon, but it appears this could be brought back possibly in a future update.

webMAN MOD has seen an update to support firmware v4.80, while already seen in the latest release of Rebug from an update by Joonie . Developer aldostools has updated his github repository with also updates to prepNTFS & ps3netsrv to go along with it.

If you are a PS3 Custom Firmware user and would like to use OFW but would like to return to have the ability to return to CFW? Some may say why would a CFW user's want to use an OFW? The most logical reason to many would be playing your games from disc on PSN with a reduced chance of being banned from the network. The dualboot firmware starts out as 4.80 Official Firmware (OFW) but then minimal files are modified only to allow for a CFW install from 4.80, and no this will not jailbreak your PS3, you must already be on CFW for this to be of any use to you.

As mentioned several days ago in my "The PlayStation 3.5" write up, I wrote a bit about why NoBD Custom Firmware is a great (only) solution for the consumer of a PlayStation 3 Console that has a malfunction (broken) BD Drive and/or BD Logic Board. You would think that with those broken items you could still execute your digital content, as its just an optical feature that is broken. Well, this simply is not the case, basically you are left with the XMB only Console, so in other words a fancy screensaver, Netflix is not going to launch or any other digital service. Well, no worries you have many PSN Games you bought and installed on HDD. Well, to bad those won't launch either with these drive related issues. There must be a solution right?
