PS3 ManaGunZ v1.30 - Plugin Manager, PS2 Config Managment, Remote Control in new update

Developer @Zar is back with a new update to ManaGunZ, so that means there must be alot of new additions and features with this update, and the developer did not disappoint while it might be some time between updates. Each update continues to pack a huge punch and v1.30 is no exception. As with any update there is some maintenance & bug fixes to be cleaned up, but alot of neat things have been added with this update PS2 CONFIG File Management system has been added, PS2 Configs have been huge in improving PS2 Compatibility on the Software Emulator. Check out this psx-place discussion ( with community developer's and scene veterans as they figure out the PS2 Configs for various games and engines..), PS2 BIN/CUE format is now supported s well, Added Remote Control Feature, A welcomed feature in the form a Plugin Manager also appears in this update. Plus a vareity of additional features outlined in the extensive changelog for this recommended homebrew for your PS3 by developer @Zar​

We all like a bit of eye candy and customization on our homebrew devices. Well developer 1upus has created a new utility for vita / pstv homebrew community. As this (vpk). You may recall about a year (Oct 2016) when DarkBlack711 (reddit) @atreyu187 (psx-place) detailed methods how to remove Ads and replace with custom entries such as homebrew shortcuts. Since that time we have not seen the process mature much or many tools released around it but now thanks to 1upus there seems to be a user-friendly solution that can be done on the device it self with this homebrew that is an installed vpk for HENkaku (3.60) exploited PS Vita & PlayStation TV devices. Add some custom looks to your Live Area Screen with Quick Launch Installer (v0.2 currently). We hope to see this utility mature, devs like feedback and idea's especially these projects that are early in development..​

PS VITA / PS TV Brewology.com - Now Supporting PS Vita Homebrew DLs

The Homebrew Store (Brewology.com) has made a huge announcement today via website owner @monkeymaximus here at the PSX-Place forums, As brewology is now supporting PS Vita / PlayStation TV Homebrew Downloads. If you have a Jailbroken (CFW) PS3 then I am sure you have ran across brewology a time or two finding some PS3 homebrew. The website has an easy to consume layout with plenty of information and source links for additional details, While VitaDB is an excellent resource for homebrew, they do have a big hole in regards to information/Source links about the projects, so certain user's may be able to DL but not always know how to properly use various apps . Our own PSX-Place Download Sections is an advanced library and is great but it also has an issue as it lacks some needed updates (anyone interested to help us?). So hopefully brewology can be to the PS Vita what it was on the PS3, with a bit of help from the community I am sure brewology Vita will be just as great.​
PS4 qwertyoruiop now shows [unreleased] kernel exploit for 5.00 PS4 FW

PS4 hacker qwertyoruiop has been making light work of the PS4 on firmware 5.00, first he showed a webkit exploit running when he tweeted the screenshot via his twitter feed over the weekend, at the time the hacker was also suggesting he had found several bugs to gain a kernel exploit. Yesterday a simple tweet was made by Qwertyoruiop "ps4 kernel code exec on 5.00 achieved at last!" followed by the screenshot posted today as seen below of the kernel exploit being loaded in the PS4 web-browser. Now this is good news, but i must give a warning about getting too excited as the dev has not released previous exploits. Its remains a mystery to when a PS4 exploit may be released to the public, but we do know there is alot of development going on with the PS4 by some talented guys and at some point will be very beneficial to many. A current exploit is so close but also so far away but nonetheless this progress is exciting to see.​

PS Vita / Ps TV SwitchView UI [by VitaHEX Games) - Switch inspired interface (app) for launching Homebrew

As mentioned a few days ago in PSX-Place's The FEED, VitaHEX Games has a new homebrew for exploited PSTV / VITA that is influenced by the popular Nintendo Switch. SwitchView UI is a homebrew app that allows you to launch HOMEBREW from a Switch like interface as seen in the provided screenshots. This app (powered by Lua Player Plus (lpp)) will only show homebrew (games/apps) stored in "ux0". Perhaps the LiveArea is not your favorite area to launch homebrew then here an option for you, check it out and give the developer some feedback or even idea's on future projects​

VITAident creator Joel16 states this is an update you should install if you use this multi-functional utility for your PlayStation TV & PS Vita (running HENkaku). While there has not been alot of features added there was some major cleanups and supports of the latest SDK changes. Plus some re-worked menus. PS4 Custom PKG on Retail PS4 - New method shown by flatz via video

Hacker flatz is well known in the PlayStation Hacking community for many advancements and projects now is doing some things on his PS4 that contains 4.55 firmware. On his YouTube channel he released a new video titled "Custom PKG on retail PS4" which covers a demonstration on a PS4 (4.55) of an Installation of a Custom & also a Re-Packaged PKG file. While this is being demoed on a 4.55 flatz does state this should be easy to port to other firmwares (when a current firmware is exploited) and is a "bullet proof method in comparison" to 1.76. Flatz will soon share a write-up to achieve this task.​

PS4 Firmware 5.00 Userland Webkit Exploit on PS4 teased by qwertyoruiop (no Kernel Exploit)

Here is some PS4 news/teases for 5.00 firmware, as a userland webkit exploit is shown via a screenshot from PS4 Hacker qwertyoruiop Twitter. You may recall this dev also showcased an exploit to v4.XX firmware in that past that was never released. Which the hacker was more then willing to share the news he had exploited the PS4 but did not have the same feeling of sharing the actual exploit as much as the news, sadly.. Will this 5.00 exploit be made public or will this exploit also be kept secret? Only time will tell as no details about a potential release has been stated at this point. About the exploit itself its only a userland webkit exploit that is being shown, so this means it will still require a kernel exploit to be like open in the same sense as 1.76. qwertyoruiop also states he has found a bug to exploit the kernel in v5.00, but has not did the exploiting of the bug quite yet. While this is exciting news and great work by the hacker. I would caution about getting too excited because this has the potential of never being released like the work in 4.XX previously detailed, but things are moving for the Ps4 so who knows....​

PS VITA / PS TV Zelda Time to Triumph: New Port from usineur

Following the released ports of Zelda ROTH (Return of the Hylian) & Zelda Oni Link's Begin for Vita/Pstv, the third port comes to the community from developer usineur with the release of Zelda Time to Triumph to complete the three game trilogy of the fan-made created series that extends the story of Zelda from Vincent Jouilat's perspective, This is a welcome port to the Vita as it serves as great editions to the ealier work of both usineur and Rinnegatamante.​
