Bobby_Downgrade has been making custom firmware recently and the developer has been adding some unique touches to his custom firmware. He released 4 types of CFW releases for 4.81, 4.81 OVERFLOW Standard (CEX), 4.81 OVERFLOW Standard (NO-BD), 4.81 OVERFLOW COBRA (v7.3) and 4.81 OVERFLOW Dualboot. Just to note some of the features found in this CEX-CFW (excluding Dualboot): Running fselfs as native (runs dex/debug files like eboots), Both dex and cex packages supported, Also updates messages have been alerted to warn CFW user's better for accidental firmware updates. Plus various other unique features you can find in this collection of Custom Firmware for 4.81 . ​

We seen the return of darkjiros and his DARKNET CFW with the release of his Standard CEX version of CFW last week. Now the CFW developer has a COBRA (v7.3) CFW for release, we have seen several Cobra CFW builds and for the most part they are very functional but have come with some issues regarding PS2 pliability on certain models. However, darkjiros opted to use as quoted "Ps2_gxemu.self, ps2_netemu.self OFW 4.80 and 4.81 are the same. So I used the file of Rebug 4.80.1 as it is.". This is what SPY CFW did with his earlier CFW release as well, which has had positive reports using the 4.80 emu. webMAN MOD received an update to support CFW 4.81 from developer aldostools, The plugin for PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware user's also seen a few tweaks for supporting DeViL303's webMAN Launchpad. if you missed the last few updates there was also alot of new additions and changes in those updates that occurred over the last several weeks. A new USER/ADMIN feature has been added to the plugin offering alot of new security to your console, Option to mute SND0.AT3 on mounted games, which i know is a feature everyone could use. PS3 4.70 OFW Hack (including SuperSlim PS3) - New method for injecting backups

So ,here is some news for PlayStation 3 OFW owners, as Russian hackers have released a new method of injecting backups on PS3 4.70 Official Firmware, similar to the hack and information from Kakaroto that lead to injections of various PS3 and PSP backups and tools such as trueAncestor backup Injector (which is used in this method). This new method seems to require a update for the game or it will not work according to limited reports. Also the hack does not require a IDPS which becomes even more useful for OFW user's as there is currently not many ways to obtain an IDPS via software. IDPStealer was one method used by PS3 user's during the first backup injection hack, but Sony patched the tool created by flatz and now this new method has a conversion that is said to not need any hardware or idps. Hacker / Developer Yifanlu of now the famed team molecule has released Beta 2 of the recent taiHEN release that takes HENkaku a step forward in evolution providing some CFW type abilities. You should start see more and more fruits of this hack as it matures over the weeks and developer take advantage of the new unlocked abilities that will now reside in our PS Vita / PlayStation TY (vita tv) devices that to this evolution in Vita hacks. Beta 2 you will find lots of stability fixes since the initial release as Yifanlu admits it was a bit rushed, plus a working PSN Spoof is in the new update and is working for spoofing to 3.63 currently as of writing this, but may not for very long as explained in the details provided​
PS3 LaunchPAD v0.15 released - New firmwares support and more

Launchpad is a modification of "Whats new" section in PS3 XMB. Until now you have seen latest PSN offers placed there, but after installing this add-on this section will show games from your internal and external hdd. Until now, it was a Rebug firmware exclusive add-on for the XMB. Exclusive as there is a need of additional task to maintain on every single firmware, which was the main reason of "one cfw exclusivity". But now developer @DeViL303 decided to add compatibility to every most known 4.81 firmwares. But please keep in mind that still there is no support for older versions of newly added firmwares. So this will only work on 4.81 custom firmware listed below.​

We seen playerkp420 release a 4.81 Dualboot firmware a couple of days ago and now the developer is back with 4.81 Playerkp420 - Standard (CEX), in the past as playerkp420 was honing his craft his firmwares focused on stability rather then features. However that approached is changing as the developer is advancing his skills. While a "Standard CEX" CFW it contains some of the "add-ons" such as cinavia protection, removal of startup epilepsy message & removal 7 patched wait for coldboot view sleep, which combined gives this CFW a faster boot time compared to other CFW's. Original Gamboot Animation has been enforced, XMB CFW settings Mod has been added and various features has been placed in this new CFW from Playerkp420/​

Developer Playerkp420 has released a DUALBOOT firmware for 4.81, The theory and purpose behind the dualboot firmwares is providing a CFW a safer way to play disc games on PSN without the risk of a ban for simply having a CFW enabled Console. Developer DeViL303 has a new updated version of webMAN LaunchPAD as an alternate way of launching and displaying webMAN Games is born with this XMB modification that has been officially supported by the webMAN MOD plugin for awhile now. In this update there has been some new icons added, created by psx-place member Berion, also a new darker background which is a welcome addition can be seen in this new update. View rest of the change is v0.13 and not the changes from a version earlier in the week in v0.12) also.​
