Alexander is here with 4.81 FERROX Standard Edition (v1.00) CFW, following the release of 4.81 DARKNET by darkjiros . Also a Standard CEX firmware built from 4.81 Firmware comes with the usual options and features for FERROX, but if you recall for 4.80 the developer did something different adding some XMB Mods and adding the link to the CyberModding Homebrew Store, which many liked seeing the mods and other did not. So Alexander has two flavors planned one that is the "cleaned" version and then another that is a modded version. First up is the standard version and the mooded version to come soon.
Developer darkjiros is back in the PS3 scene and following the release of his4.81 DARKNET (v1.00) CEX CFW the developer has released v4.81 of the PS3 Nor & Nand Auto Patcher. This utility is a useful tool in the downgrading process for a PlayStation 3 model that is capable of a downgrade to 3.55 & below. As it will patch both NOR or NAND dumps (dependent on your PS3 model)
The saying here at psx-place is that updates done by Sony aren't always a bad thing. These small updates are always bringing the scene to life and are the motor for new things for PS3. But, lets get back to topic. After long absence developer @darkjiros is coming back with the first 4.81 custom firmware for the Playstation 3. If You are not aware who darkjiros is, this CFW developer made some great cobra lite Custom Firmwares in 4.65 - 4.70 era. So, if you are asking if this cfw is safe, yes it is. For now there is not too many homebrew with support for 4.81 CFW, but this should change in short period of time.
Developer @Evilnat stopped at psx-place forums to release updated SEN Enabler with support for latest 4.81 custom firmware, and to spoof old CFW to 4.81. For now plugin and application is supporting CEX Custom Firmware's. Evilnat has also gave warning that Sony added new certificate named CA59.cer in 4.81 firmware, so is highly recommended to use latest available cfw instead of spoofing older one's. The Plugin and Application was tested with older Firmwares and with latest DARKENT 4.81 CFW for now.
The PS Vita / PlayStation TV [ aka Vita TV] areceived a new firmware update as Sony drops Firmware version 3.63. Nothing major seem to be of concern here and basically same situation for HENkaku user's with v3.61 firmware as 3.60 is latest for HENkaku and it appears PSN access is still possible.. This like the recent Sony released PS3 firmware v4.81 which you can read more about that here has improved stability garbage they put on all those bandwidth waster they claim are firmware updates..
PSVibe is a homebrew application by DragonSnake for the PSTV inspired by old PS3 homebrew named also PSVibe. As the title might suggest, it is using vibration functions as a main feature. Fun fact is that is one of that uncommon homebrews that can run only on PSTV. Vita due to lack of vibration function is not supported. In this release You can find better Dualshock 3 support, and check vibration intensity as a percentage on screen. Also with this release developer made this application open-source, so You can find code on Github.
TheFlow pushed small update to VitaShell, but small update can bring big features. New version added long desired 'Properties' feature to quick menu, also there you can check that file is fake self or retail one, and if is fself then check is safe or not. Of course you can find there also simple info about checked file, like name, size, creation/modification date. Another new feature is file and folders sorting not only by name, but also by size, or date. Like You can see is small update with only two line changelog, but added features are very useful for some users.
